3 Trains and a Bus from Pecs to Krakow - Day 10

Breakfast at 6, taxi at 6:30 to the train station. The ladies decided that a 15hr train ride with 3 train changes required 1st class passage, so here we are waiting for the first leg to Budapest. Shirley likes the more comfy seats.

Now to Breclaw in the Czech Repulic, via Brataslava, Slovakia.  Picnic lunch of nice bread, cheese, sausage and ham on the train.

Only 8 minutes to transfer to the train going to Katowice, Poland, but our train is 37 minutes late!  We get our packs on, sprint for the platform, find and get on the train (NICE! It waited for us) huffing and puffing (good thing we have backpacks instead of heavy luggage). The train waits another 13 minutes to leave....  Will we make our next connection to Krakow?

Well, in a word, no.

We arrived in Katowice 50 minutes after our next train left, so the conductor suggested we take a bus. Lucky for us, a nice young businessman led us to the bus departure point (we would never have found it in time) and Anna, a friendly young medical student helped us find our way to our local hotel transport. A couple of a Polish angels!!

Anna. Medical student and helpful guiding angel!

Finally!!!  The Globtroter Krakow Hotel and one of our helpful inn keepers....  Straight to bed!!

Anetta, one of our friendly innkeepers.
